Learn to make your own curtains – £160pp
Saturday 7 November. 9:30am-4:30pm. Maximum 2 people. All materials included
This is a specialist workshop, held in my studio in Low Valleyfield. A full-day practical workshop for confident sewers who want to learn how to measure, calculate and make professionally finished machine-made curtains.
You’ll work through the calculations and technical aspects step by step before making a small sample curtain to practise the techniques.
Please bring the following essentials:
Fabric scissors, good-quality, sharp pins – glass-headed pins are strongly recommended, as they are easier to spot if accidentally dropped or left in the curtain, measuring tape, full 250m reel of good-quality all-purpose sewing thread in both black and white and your sewing machine
Please bring your own sewing machine, along with:
All machine accessories, power cable and foot pedal, a pack of size 80 sewing machine needles, a pack of size 90 sewing machine needles and the manual.
Using your own machine is ideal, as you’ll be learning on the machine you’re familiar with and will use at home.
If you’re unable to bring your own machine, please let me know in advance. I can provide a basic studio sewing machine for you to use during the workshop, but I’ll need time to set it up before you arrive.
Lunch & refreshments -pPlease bring a packed lunch with you. As there is no catering kitchen available, please choose something that doesn’t require refrigeration or reheating.
Hot drinks, biscuits and light refreshments will be available throughout the day.
