Capture the essence of the outdoors in fabric with our mixed media textile mini landscape workshop.
This immersive, full-day experience invites you to build a unique piece of fabric art by layering fabrics, yarns and threads to create rich textures. We’ll dive into the sustainable beauty of “slow stitching,” repurposing fabric remnants, lace, threads, yarns and beads to give your landscape incredible depth and narrative. Your finished piece will fit into an A4 card mount (supplied).
You’ll master a blend of machine and hand-stitching to bring your scene to life. Because art takes time, you may find yourself wanting to add finishing touches at home or, if you prefer, we can have a follow-up studio session to complete your masterpiece.
Workshop Essentials:
All materials and use of studio equipment are included in your cost. No additional material fees.
Please bring your personal sewing kit (needles, fabric scissors, pins) if you can, and if you’d like to, your own sewing machine.
Fuel Your Creativity: Light refreshments, some homemade treats and hot drinks will be provided, but please bring a packed lunch. I’m sorry but no fridge space will be available.
What to Wear: We’ll be getting creative and fluffy, so please wear comfortable “artist’s clothes” that you don’t mind getting a little messy.
