Terms and Conditions for Classes

All classes must be paid in full at time of booking. Your place on the course is not guaranteed until payment is made.

An invoice, generated by Sum Up, will be sent to the email address you provide, and card payments can be made directly through that. Bluebell Design does not have access to your card details or personal information. All details are processed through Sum Up, a secure online payment system.

Payments can also be made by direct bank transfer, if this is your preference. Please ask me if you’d like to do this instead.

At present, I do not take cash payments for classes.

Regarding refunds. 100% refunds are given for cancellations made by me. If you cancel, please note that I refund 95%, retaining 5% of your class fee. This is to cover the fees charged by the payment provider.

Cancellations by you

Group classes.

If you need to cancel your participation in a group class after booking and paying, but before the class begins, please contact me at least 48 hours prior to the first session. I offer partial refunds in this situation – Bluebell Design will retain a percentage of your fee (5%) to cover administration costs and refund the remainder. Refunds will be made via the payment method used by you when booking. Alternatively, you can ask me to hold the full amount in credit for you to be used against future workshop bookings.

If you wish to cancel your participation partway through a block of classes, you will be offered a maximum 50% refund for the sessions you will not be attending.

If you are sick and cannot participate in a session or two because of your illness, please contact me as soon as you know you won’t be coming. As long as you keep me informed, we will arrange for you to complete your block of lessons at a future date. If I am not informed, your absence will be considered “non-attendance” – please see below.

Private classes.

If you need to postpone a private class, please give me at least 48 hours notice to allow me to rearrange the date and time. If you wish to cancel completely, again, please contact me 48 hours prior to class. Bluebell Design will retain 5% of your payment to cover administration costs and refund the rest via your original payment method.

Non attendance of any booked class (for any reason) does not give you an automatic right to a refund, extra tuition or a transfer. I will take the individual circumstances into consideration and offer a solution that is fair to us both if at all possible, but I cannot guarantee that an alternative session will be available.

If your non-attendance was part of a block of classes, you will be offered a space in another block if there is one, to catch up. This is subject to a space being available – I make no guarantees that this will be possible. If no spare places are available, a private lesson may be offered to allow you to catch up with your own group before the next class. This will incur an additional fee and will need to be taken before your next scheduled session, to avoid you missing too much. This is entirely dependent on my having the time to do this and, if your absence was caused by illness, you being well enough to return so soon. If we cannot squeeze you in, then at the next session you attend, you’ll receive whatever additional help I can give, as long as it does not have an impact on the other class members. There will be no extra time added to make up for what you missed, but you can, if required, book in for some workshop time or a one-to-one session to catch up properly at any point. Both of these will incur additional fees.

Late arrivals have a detrimental impact on the rest of the class so you’re asked to arrive about 10 minutes before we begin, which gives time to settle in. If you’re running late, please inform me by text if you can so that I know that you’re safe and when we can expect you. On arrival, you will be asked to settle in quietly without disturbing the rest of the participants. You can then either continue with your project immediately (if you are able to) or wait until I can leave the others to fill you in on what you’ve missed. There will be no extra time added to make up for what you missed.

Cancellations by Bluebell Design

In the unlikely event of a class being cancelled or postponed by Bluebell Design, you will be given as much notice as possible. I will make every effort to offer alternative dates and/or extend a class block, depending on circumstances, or will offer a full refund for the sessions I have had to cancel.

Government restrictions and weather warnings advising against unnecessary travel will be observed. Classes are unnecessary travel and in situations, for example, with red or amber weather warnings, classes will be postponed for the safety of everyone. You will be kept informed as the situation develops and alternative dates will be arranged once possible.

Skill Levels Required

Please ensure you read the class description carefully as to the skill level required, prior to booking. If you do not have the necessary skill level to participate in the class, it will hinder the experience of other students and impact on my ability to teach the planned class. In this situation, I will suggest a more suitable class for you to transfer to, so that you can gain the experience required. At a later date you can complete the original class, once you have the skills needed. Please call me if you’re unsure if your selected class is right for you, and we can make sure before you book.

Behavioural Expectations

Students are required to conduct themselves in a civil, polite and reasonable manner at all times. I will not tolerate any violent, indecent, disorderly, threatening, intimidating or offensive language or behaviour towards myself, other students or any other occupants of the shared building. I don’t expect everyone to be the best of friends (although that would be lovely), but I do insist on respectful and civil interactions. If necessary, students will be removed from the class and their future bookings cancelled, with no refund.

Safety in Class

Please dress sensibly for class, ensuring that nothing is worn that could get caught in any machinery. Hair should be tied back if it is long. Shoes must be worn at all times. Some equipment is hazardous and you take personal responsibility for your own safety in my studio. You are asked to ensure dropped pins and needles are picked up immediately, and that shared equipment like irons and overlockers are safely switched off after use. All damage to studio equipment will have to be paid for.

At present, masks are no longer required whilst moving around the studio or building. Hand sanitiser will still be available at all times.
