Scheduled Classes and Workshops

Classes are held in my studio, and are kept small, usually just for 4 people. Refreshments are included – tea (ordinary and herbal, coffee, biscuits, semi-skimmed cows milk). If you have any particular dietary requirements (non dairy milk, decaff coffee, etc), please feel free to bring what you need with you. Fridge space is limited so I ask you to bring small containers only.

To reserve your space, please email me – lois@bluebell-design.com

Scheduled classes must be booked and paid for in full by at least 2 weeks before the class is scheduled. If minimum class numbers are not reached, full refunds will be given.

Classes are for adults only, 16 years old or older. Skill levels are noted within the class details, but please contact me before booking if you have any questions on whether a class is appropriate for you.

Thursday Morning Sewing Club

Work on your own choice of sewing pattern in my studio. I’ll be on hand to offer advice and guidance as you need it, but you should be able to use a sewing machine already. Studio sewing machines will be available, as will an overlocker. If you’ve never used an overlocker before, you’ll be given a bit of help here as it’s a daunting machine till you’re used to it.

There are 6 weekly sessions in this block. You can do as many or as few as you like. Book each class one at a time or reserve your space for the full block. Please note that only 4 spaces are available each week, and these are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Your reservation must be paid for at the time of booking and until paid for, the space will still be available to others.

You’ll have the use of my large worktables, sewing machines (if you prefer to bring your own, please do so), pressing station and large mirror.

This class is suitable for those with a little sewing experience. You should be able to use a sewing machine, and be able to thread the machine, fill the bobbin, change needles etc yourself without help. Adults only (16+).

What is included in your class cost:

· Assistance and advice.

· Use of studio sewing machines (or bring your own) and overlocker

· Use of my studio space, including two large cutting tables, changing room and a lovely big mirror.

· Teas and coffee, plus, of course, biscuits.

What you need to bring:

· Fabric and pattern of your own choosing

· Thread to match your fabric

· Basic sewing kit (scissors, needles, pins, quick unpick, etc)

· Sewing machine and cords if you prefer to use your own one, and spare needles.

4 spaces maximum

6 weekly sessions, from 21 July to 25 August (Thursday mornings). 10am – 1pm

£30 per week

Please contact me by email to book – lois@bluebell-design.com

Beginners Sewing – 4 week block

Tuesday 30th August to Tuesday 20th September.

10.30am to 12.30pm

Designed for total novices, this 4 week block will introduce you to machine sewing. We’ll work our way through how to use a sewing machine, threading it, cutting fabric, understanding simple patterns and how to sew buttonholes and insert zips. Together we will make simple projects that will build your skills and confidence over the four weeks.

All materials and use of studio equipment included, including use of the studio sewing machines. If you have your own machine, please feel free to bring it.

4 spaces available – £120 per person for the block.

Please note that I need at least 2 participants to make these sessions economically viable.

Bookings must be made and paid for by 23rd August 2022.

Please email me to book – lois@bluebell-design.com

Reversible Christmas Stocking

Tuesday 15th November 2022

10.30am – 1pm

Make a fully reversible Christmas stocking in one morning. You will have use of my studio sewing machines, but you are, of course, welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer to use that.

Some sewing experience is necessary – you should be able to thread and use a basic sewing machine and understand simple patterns and instructions. No beginners sewing instruction is given in this session, so if you are unsure as to whether it’s suitable, please get in touch before booking.

What is included in your class cost:

· A selection of festive and plain fabric to choose from to make one christmas stocking.

· Use of studio sewing machines (or bring your own)

· Teas and coffee, plus, of course, biscuits.

What you need to bring:

· Thread – I suggest you bring a spool of white, suitable for use in a domestic sewing machine.

· Basic sewing kit (scissors, hand and machine needles, pins, quick unpick, etc)

· Sewing machine and its cords and accessories, if you prefer to use your own one, and spare needles.

4 spaces available

£40 per person

This class needs a minimum of 2 participants to be economically viable. Bookings are to be confirmed and paid for by 1st November. If minimum numbers aren’t reached and you have booked and paid, you will receive a full refund.
