Scheduled Classes and Workshops

Classes are held in my studio, and are kept small, usually just for 4 people. Refreshments are included – tea (ordinary and herbal, coffee, biscuits, semi-skimmed cows milk). If you have any particular dietary requirements (non dairy milk, decaff coffee, etc), please feel free to bring what you need with you. Fridge space is limited so I ask you to bring small containers only.

To reserve your space in any class, please email me – lois@bluebell-design.com

Scheduled classes must be booked and paid for in full by the date specified in the class description.

If a minimum number of participants is specified and this number is not reached, you will be given a full refund of any money paid. Refunds will be processed as quickly as possible.

Classes are for adults only, 16 years old or older. Skill levels are noted within the class details, but please contact me before booking if you have any questions on whether a class is appropriate for you.

Sewing Club

Thursday 29 September to Thursday 3 November

10am – 1pm

Work on your own choice of sewing pattern in my studio. I’ll be on hand to offer advice and guidance as you need it. You should be able to use a sewing machine already. Studio sewing machines will be available, as will an overlocker. If you’ve never used an overlocker before, you’ll be given a bit of help here as it’s a daunting machine till you’re used to it.

There are 6 weekly sessions in this block. You can do as many or as few sessions as you like. Book each class as you go or reserve your space for the full block. Please note that a maximum of 4 spaces are available each week, and these are allocated on a first come, first served basis. Your reservation is to be paid for at the time of booking. Until paid for, the space will still be available to others.

You’ll have the use of my large worktables, sewing machines (if you prefer to bring your own, please do so), pressing station and large mirror.

This class is suitable for those with a little sewing experience. You should know how to use a sewing machine, and be able to thread the machine, fill the bobbin, change needles etc yourself without help. Adults only (16+).

What is included in your class cost:

· Assistance and advice.

· Use of studio sewing machines (or bring your own) and overlocker

· Use of my studio space, including two large cutting tables, changing room and a lovely big mirror.

· Teas and coffee, plus, of course, biscuits.

What you need to bring:

· Fabric and pattern of your own choosing

· Thread to match your fabric

· Basic sewing kit (scissors, needles, pins, quick unpick, etc)

· Sewing machine and cords if you prefer to use your own one, and spare machine needles.

1 to 4 spaces available per week.

Japanese Knot Bag

Saturday 15 October, 10am to 12 noon

Make a beautiful Japanese Knot bag using my self-drafted pattern. Small and perfectly formed, this little bag is perfect as an evening bag, a bridesmaid gift, used as reuseable gift wrapping (and extra present) or to stop your yarn escaping whilst you knit or crochet. It can be made out of simple cotton or silks, depending on your final use.

You will need to bring with you one or two pieces of cotton fabric (1m x 1m) in co-ordinating colours, fabric to use as lining and a spool of matching thread.

To take this class, you should be comfortable using your sewing machine and have basic sewing skills. Basic sewing instruction is not part of this class, so complete novices could book an Absolute Beginners session with me first.

£40 per person.

2 to 4 participants
