Alterations and fittings
- I offer a fitting service, altering purchased garments to fit you as
well as possible. I can also repair an old favourite, replacing broken
zips and missing buttons.
Make up only service - I offer a garment making service which involves no fittings, using commercial patterns. This is particularly suitable for children's clothing or garments where the fit is relaxed and loose. All you need to do is purchase your commercial pattern and all the fabrics and notions, then I simply make it up and charge you for labour only. I can also supply the fabric if you wish me to.
Made to fit service - I offer this service for commercial patterns, using fittings and adjustments during construction to ensure that the final garment is both flattering and comfortable. You provide the bought pattern and I make it up, fitting it to you as we proceed. The process will involve at least one test garment fitting.
Custom service - this service is for made to measure classic garments, such as trousers, skirts and coats, ensuring you leave with beautifully fitted garments in your choice of fabric. I cut the pattern just for you, for your figure and proportions. You'll have as many test garment fittings as it takes, and your finished pattern will be carefully stored for future use, so if you want the same garment made in a different fabric, it can be done easily. Future garments using your custom pattern without changing anything are then made at the price level of the "Make up" service.This is a great service for classic everyday garments that you'll wear and wear.
Bespoke design service - I also offer a full design service for those special garments, allowing you total control of all design and style features. Particularly suited to bridal and special occassion wear, I'll design, make the pattern and make up your special outfit just for you. These garments often involve hand embroidery, beading or fabric flowers, and all of these can be added to your design to make it utterly unique.
All my work is undertaken at the same high standard so that, no matter which service suits your requirements best, you can always be assured of the quality of the end result.
